Genesis 1:1
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
Since Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, God didn’t allow him to share any of the details of what happened in Genesis 1:1 (only ten words). Maybe God didn’t tell Moses the details because He didn’t want Moses to get a big head or he wanted to tell other prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah. God has his reasons like we do.
Since God has always existed (can you fathom that?) He has no beginning and no end, so we have no idea what He did before He created the heaven and the earth. We’re not sure what happened on the new earth but we can speculate by reading other scripture. When Lucifer approached Eve in the garden as a serpent, he spoke blasphemy against God’s command to not eat of the tree of Good and Evil. He said, “You will NOT die if you eat of the Tree of Good and Evil. You will become gods!”
It was just enough temptation for both Eve and Adam to ignore God’s rule and eat of the forbidden tree.
Why is Lucifer so hell-bent to persuade Adam & Eve to sin? Is he still holding a grudge? You better believe it! He had his heart and soul set on getting the throne of God! He used to lead the worship in the throne room and the waves of love and worship spoiled the lustful angel.
All these years of reading Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 I never paid attention to what it wasn’t saying until some scholars pointed it out for me. I assumed it was the introductory of the seven days of creation and it wasn’t that at all! Finally, I realized something horrible had happened in Genesis 1:2.
Genesis 1:2
And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
